Honoring
Tradition
At Horn of Africa, we bring the intricate, boldly spiced culinary traditions of Ethiopia and Eritrea directly to Bergen, Norway. Our food is more than just sustenance; it is a cultural experience meant to be shared with family and friends.
Central to our dining experience is Injera, our traditional sourdough flatbread, and the deeply symbolic act of eating together from a single plate. Every stew, whether a slowly simmered Doro Wet or a vibrant vegan arrangement, is carefully crafted using imported spices and recipes passed down through generations.
Since opening our doors on Strandgaten 212, we have been proud to serve the Bergen community a genuine taste of East African hospitality. We import our spices directly from Ethiopia and Eritrea, and our traditional coffee ceremony, roasted, brewed, and served tableside, offers a moment of culture that no menu description can fully capture.
The Culture We Carry
Our walls are adorned with original artwork celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Ethiopia and Eritrea.
